Professional wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, has died. He was 71 years old.
TMZ was the first to announce news of Bollea’s passing. They claim that medics were first dispatched to the wrestling star’s home on Thursday morning, with operators stating that the call was regarding a “cardiac arrest.” No other details about his death are available at this time, per TMZ.
Hogan first rose to prominence in the 1980s in the WWF, now WWE. His All-American, Hulkamania persona not only made him a household name, but it also helped catapult professional wrestling to new heights.
In the 1990s, Hogan began working for WCW, owned by Ted Turner. Working this time as a villain, Hogan would help spark another pro wrestling boom period, which is still remembered fondly 30 years later as the “Monday Night Wars.”
Bollea had two children, Brooke and Nick, with his first wife, Linda. He remarried twice—once in 2010 to Jennifer McDaniel and again in 2023 to Sky Daily.
