Former TV host Ellen DeGeneres recently swapped the United States for a countryside mansion in the Cotswolds.
Alongside her wife, actress Portia Rossi, the couple relocated to the picturesque town which is also home to David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and Jeremy Clarkson.
On Friday, the ex-Top Gear star welcomed the newcomers to his recently opened pub, The Farmer’s Dog.
In an Instagram post from the pub’s official account, Ellen and Portia are seen enjoying live music and drinks alongside singer Natalie Imbruglia, Lisa Hogan, and James Blunt.
The duo looked cheerful as they waved to the camera from the balcony of The Farmer’s Dog.
The post was captioned: “@natalie_imbruglia @thetallirish @jamesblunt what a great night in the pub with @thecorrsofficial ..the way a good pub night should be ..acoustic set, a few drinks, great friends @jeremyclarkson1 thanks for organising it!”
However, the comedian looked nearly unrecognizable as she flaunted a darker pixie cut, an unexpected change from her usual blonde appearance.
According to a source via PEOPLE, the couple “hung out with [Clarkson’s partner, actress] Lisa Hogan and James Blunt, and The Corrs performed at the pub.”
The insider also confirmed that Ellen had officially moved after a few months of house hunting this year.
They continued: “Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October,” a source told PEOPLE. “She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after.”
After almost 20 years in the spotlight, Ellen stepped away after toxic workplace accusations were made against her in 2020.
As a result, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired for 19 seasons, aired its final episode in May 2022.
As for her move, the recent US general election results may have inspired her decision to leave the United States.
A source told the Daily Mail: “An enormous part of the US doesn’t like her because of her sexual preferences, and others were turned off by her persona, which some perceived to be fake in the wake of the workplace allegations.
They added that she finds it “easier to move away from her problems” than to “confront them,” adding that the whole incident “seems like a sad end to what she once was in people’s minds.”
