During the hush money trial involving former President Donald Trump, adult film actress Stormy Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford,
took the stand on Tuesday to recount her experience with Trump in July 2006. As she testified, she provided insight into their encounter and shed light on Trump’s relationship with his wife Melania.
Daniels shared how she ventured into exotic dancing before delving into the specifics of her interaction with Trump. She recounted how Trump’s bodyguard, Keith Schiller,
initially proposed a dinner invitation from Trump. Despite her initial refusal, Daniels eventually acquiesced at the insistence of her publicist.
Upon arriving at Trump’s penthouse suite, Daniels observed Schiller and a slightly open door to Trump’s room. She entered to find Trump clad in satin pajamas, prompting her to advise him to change, which he promptly did. Their ensuing conversation revolved around Daniels’ line of work, with Trump posing inquiries regarding its business aspects, including unions, residuals, payment methods, and health insurance.
Although Trump delved into Daniels’ personal life, their discussion about his wife Melania was brief. Daniels mentioned expressing admiration for Melania’s beauty and recalled Trump’s remark that they did not share the same bedroom, indicating a separation in their sleeping arrangements.
This revelation aligns with a 2018 Washington Post feature, which disclosed that Donald and Melania Trump did not share a bedroom. Annette Dunlap, a first lady scholar, noted that while separate bedrooms were uncommon in modern times, they were historically associated with wealth rather than marital discord. In fact, prior to the 1970s, it was not uncommon for affluent couples, particularly in Europe, to have separate sleeping quarters.
